Question 1

Are the film cells real?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every Cinema Collection piece includes an authentic 35mm film cell from the actual movie. No reprints, no scans. Because they're real, no two are exactly alike — once a cell is gone, it's gone.

Question 2

Can I pick my cell?

Accepted Answer

You can! However, you may receive a film cell within the same 1/6th of second from the one depicted. The subject may be in slightly different position. Most cells were acquired in 5 cell strips. Once they're gone, they're gone .

Question 3

How does the lightbox work?

Accepted Answer

Each lightbox is contained within a metal tin that has a built-in low-heat LED to light up the film cell. The LED Light is adjustable: 3000K-6500K SMD 2835 with 4-Button, 2-Channel CCT Dimmer and plugs in using a USB port.

Question 4

Why do some cells look red?

Accepted Answer

Color film uses cyan, magenta, and yellow dyes. Over time and with heat, the cyan dye fades first, leaving the red/magenta tones behind. It's a natural sign of authentic vintage film.

Question 5

Are they hand-made?

Accepted Answer

Yep! Every design was lovingly hand drawn by us, a husband-and-wife artist duo. No stock art, no templates. We drew it, then built it into a shaped wooden lightbox.
